Description

We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Future of Gas Seminar hosted by National Grid Gas Transmission.

Gas plays a vital role today in providing secure energy supplies to our homes, businesses and industry. However, in order to mitigate the effects of climate change, we need to decarbonise our energy system to meet the UK’s target of reducing our carbon dioxide emissions by 80% from 1990 levels by 2050.

Building on our latest Future Energy Scenarios (FES 2016), we are now seeking to understand the role that gas, both as a commodity and network, can realistically and affordably play in the future.

This is not something that we in National Grid can or should answer on our own – we want this to be a whole industry discussion.

The Seminar will form part of the discussion as we look to seek your input, views and feedback to ensure agreement on the most plausible, affordable future options for gas and the transmission network.

We kindly ask you to register by 26th October. Further details including an agenda and travel information will be circulated to registered attendees in due course.

We hope that you can join us on 29th November.
